A Vital Lesson From 60 Years Ago

In this 9:30 video, produced in 1948, you will be transported back to a time when freedom, free enterprise and limited constitutional government were proudly espoused.

Only three years after the Allies' defeat of socialist and fascist totalitarians, Harding College saw the need to articulate the essentials of what we fought against --- and just as importantly, what we fought for.

How tragic that in this supposedly "educated" culture of ours, tens of millions of our fellow citizens are falling for exactly the bromide that is being peddled by the antagonist in this film, having never been enlightened to the fact that what they are consuming is poison, slickly packaged and promoted as "change."

Still more tragic is that year after year, more and more of our kids graduate from "schools" in which they were taught that there has never been, nor should there ever be, any "civilized" culture in which the government does not have control over nearly every aspect of the individual's life.

Things certainly have "changed" since this film was produced.

Let us "hope" that next Tuesday, the "change" we get will generate a reawakening, and a reaffirmation of the values expressed in this film.
